Terms and Conditions

1. Nature of Products
All jewellery crafted by Kirsty Lief is handmade, resulting in unique variations in shape, size, and finish. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, particularly our fingerprint jewellery, which relies heavily on the quality of the impressions provided - we can only make your fingerprint jewellery as good as the impression has been taken. We encourage customers to carefully read and follow the provided instructions for taking impressions and to reach out with any questions prior to returning your wax kit. We are always happy to review photos of the wax impressions before they are sent back, and highly recommend this if you are even slightly unsure. Please note that photos are required prior to returning impressions for international customers.

2. Fingerprint Impression Quality
While we strive to improve and fix minor imperfections, the quality of the final piece largely depends on the impressions taken by the customer. If an impression cannot be used or is not taken correctly, a fee of $40 will apply to cover the cost of sending an additional wax kit. Customers will be contacted to discuss any issues before hand. By completing your purchase, you agree to these terms, understanding that this fee is non-negotiable and at the discretion of Kirsty Lief.

3. Children's Impressions
We recognise that children's fingerprints, particularly those under the age of 1, may not be fully developed. However, we offer specialised methods for taking impressions from infants, detailed in the provided instructions. We encourage customers to review the infant impression option to familiarise themselves with the expected results before placing their order. Please familiarise yourself with the above section about theĀ  fees for additional kits.

4. Shipping Information
All shipping is done via Australia Post, and for all gold orders outside of Australia, we use DHL.

Your wax kit will be dispatched within 1-2 business days of purchase through Australia Post, and you will receive a tracking number via email. While handmade items do take time, we are always willing to work toward a specific date if required. Please get in touch before purchasing if you would like to discuss this timeframe.

A pre-paid return postage label is included in all wax kit orders for Australian customers only.Ā

The timeframe for receiving a finished piece of jewellery depends largely on you and the time of year. Generally, it takes 4-6 weeks from when your wax kit has been received to when you receive a dispatch notification that the final piece is on its way. Please note that you will only be contacted if there is an issue with your impressions, or if there are special details, such as placement of gemstones etc. Once your order is completed and dispatched, you will receive an email with a final tracking number.

International Customers: You are welcome to purchase our items, but you will be required to organise the postage of the wax kit back to me at your own cost, as no return post label will be provided. International customers should also be aware of their own countriesā€™ customs regulations, as there may be additional costs that Kirsty Lief cannot cover. Email contact will be made prior to dispatching your kit to ensure you are aware of these details and to provide further information on how to return your kit.

5. Fingerprint Impression Return Timeframe
Due to fluctuating metal prices, you have 6 months from the date of purchase to complete your wax impressions and send them back. An additional fee of $60 for silver and $100 for gold will apply if your impressions are returned outside of this timeframe. Kirsty Lief reserves the right to amend this fee to accomodate for any additional metal price fluctuations.Ā

6. Returns and Exchanges
Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a refund or replacement if your item is faulty or not as described. If you change your mind prior to the casting and completion of your order, a refund may be permitted, but original shipping costs and potentially the cost of any materials custom ordered to complete your order (such as gemstones and chain), will not be refunded, and all products must be returned in their original condition. Customised items, such as fingerprint pieces and anything with personalised birthstones, cannot be returned, as they are made for a specific purpose and wearer.

If for any reason you receive your item and are not satisfied, please contact me at hello@kirstylief.com. I am committed to ensuring a positive shopping experience, and hope that any issues can be resolved.

Full details of your consumer rights may be found atĀ www.consumerlaw.gov.au

7. Right to Refuse Service
Kirsty Lief reserves the right to refuse service and issue a refund to any customer whose behavior is deemed unpleasant, disrespectful, or incompatible with the values of our business. We believe in fostering a positive and respectful environment for both our customers and ourselves. If we feel that a customer may cause disruption or negativity, we may choose to cancel the order and process a full refund at our discretion. Your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a positive shopping experience are greatly appreciated.

8. Newsletter Sign-Up and Discounts
Customers are encouraged to sign up for our email newsletter at any time to receive a discount of 10% off their first order. Please note that we do not provide refunds retroactively for orders placed before signing up or after signing up, but a discount code was forgotten to be added, as the option for a discount code is clearly stated on our website. Any other discounts or sales will be exclusively communicated through our social media channels or newsletter campaigns, and refunds cannot be provided outside of the dates and times specified in these promotions. It is very difficult for a small business like ours to stay on top of these requests. We appreciate your understanding.

9. Jewellery Repairs
As all jewellery is entirely handmade, slight variations between pieces are expected and inevitable, even with exact duplicates. Please handle your pieces with care, as they are jewellery and can be delicate. For care instructions, refer to the FAQs on our website. If you believe a piece of jewellery is faulty or has broken, please contact me with photographic evidence at hello@kirstylief.com.

For any faulty or damaged jewellery, please provide photographic evidence for assessment. We will repair or replace faulty jewellery at the discretion of Kirsty Lief. Kirsty Lief can also provide a reasonable quote for repairs at any stage.

10. Payment Terms
All payments are processed securely through our website. We accept major credit cards,Ā  PayPal and Afterpay. Full payment is required at the time of purchase to initiate the order. For custom orders, an invoice will be discussed and provided, with 50% deposit required prior to commencing the order, and the remaining 50% required prior to dispatch of the final order.

11. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information and following the provided guidelines for taking impressions. Kirsty Lief is not liable for any issues arising from incorrect information or impressions that do not meet the required standards.

12. Intellectual Property
All designs and images associated with Kirsty Lief are the intellectual property of Kirsty Lief. Unauthorized use or reproduction of our designs is prohibited.

13. Amendments to Terms
Kirsty Lief reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website, and it is the customer's responsibility to review these terms periodically.
